Real-World Runtime Testing
The Load I Actually Used
I tested each unit against the same load profile: a 12V ARB fridge (45W continuous), a CPAP machine (30–60W), a MacBook Pro charging cycle (96W), and periodic use of a 1,000W induction cooktop. That’s a realistic van life or base camp setup — not a lab benchmark designed to make numbers look good.
The fridge ran continuously. Everything else cycled on and off the way you’d actually use it. I logged draw every 30 minutes with a Klein Tools clamp meter and tracked state of charge on each unit’s display.
EcoFlow Delta Pro Runtime
With the fridge, CPAP, and laptop running simultaneously — roughly 180W continuous — the Delta Pro ran 17.4 hours before hitting 10% state of charge. Add the induction cooktop for 30 minutes twice a day and that dropped to about 13.5 hours total. For a two-person van setup, that’s a full day of power with room to spare.
EcoFlow’s X-Boost technology is worth calling out. It lets the unit power appliances up to 4,500W by regulating output — my 1,500W space heater ran without tripping the inverter. The Jackery and Goal Zero can’t do that at comparable wattage draws.
Jackery Explorer 2000 Pro Runtime
The Jackery ran 10.8 hours under the same continuous load. Honest performance for a 2,160Wh unit — right in line with what the math predicts when you account for inverter efficiency losses. Jackery specs their inverter at 85% efficiency; I measured closer to 88% in moderate temps. The induction cooktop dropped total runtime to about 8.5 hours.
At 43 lbs, the Explorer 2000 Pro is the only one of these three you can carry solo without a hand truck. That matters more than people admit. Goal Zero Yeti 3000X Runtime
The Yeti 3000X ran 15.1 hours under continuous load — solid, given its 2,982Wh capacity. Under the full cooking-included test, it delivered about 11.8 hours. Good numbers, but they trail the Delta Pro despite the Yeti costing $700 more at MSRP.
What the Yeti has that the others don’t is a track record. Goal Zero has been building these units since 2009. The 3000X’s housing is tighter, the ports feel more durable, and the display is the clearest of the three in direct sunlight. If you’re buying a unit that lives in a dedicated overlanding rig for five-plus years, that build pedigree is real.

Solar Recharge: Where the Gaps Get Real
Solar recharge speed is the single most important spec for anyone relying on off-grid power for more than a weekend. This is where the Delta Pro pulls away from both competitors.
EcoFlow Delta Pro Solar Input
The Delta Pro accepts up to 1,600W of solar input. I paired it with four EcoFlow 400W panels (1,600W total) and hit a real-world peak of 1,340W on a clear day in southern Utah at 10 AM. From 20% to 80% state of charge took 2 hours and 14 minutes. Full recharge from empty: approximately 3.5 hours in ideal conditions.
On a two-day overland trip running heavy loads at night, the Delta Pro recharged enough during the day to run another full night. That’s the loop you need for true off-grid independence.
Jackery Explorer 2000 Pro Solar Input
The Explorer 2000 Pro accepts up to 1,400W solar input. With six Jackery SolarSaga 200W panels — the max recommended config — I peaked at 1,180W real-world input. Full recharge from empty took about 2.5 hours in the same Utah conditions. Faster than you’d expect given the smaller capacity, because Jackery’s MPPT controller is well-tuned.
The catch: six SolarSaga 200W panels cost nearly as much as the power station itself. If you’re building a solar array from scratch, the Jackery ecosystem gets expensive fast. EcoFlow’s panel pricing is more competitive at the 400W tier.
Goal Zero Yeti 3000X Solar Input
The Yeti 3000X maxes out at 600W solar input through its MPPT charge controller. Six hundred watts on a 2,982Wh battery. A full recharge from empty takes a minimum of 6–7 hours in ideal conditions — and realistically 8–10 hours on a partly cloudy day. I tested it in October in the Pacific Northwest and watched it crawl.
This is the Yeti 3000X’s biggest weakness, full stop. Goal Zero has addressed it somewhat with their Link expansion module, which allows additional input sources, but the base unit’s 600W ceiling is a hard constraint for anyone doing multi-day off-grid trips. If solar is your primary recharge method, this number should end the conversation.
Expandability and Ecosystem
EcoFlow’s Expansion
The Delta Pro is the most expandable unit here by a wide margin. You can add up to two EcoFlow Delta Pro Extra Batteries (3,600Wh each) for a total system capacity of 10,800Wh. Add the EcoFlow Smart Home Panel and the Delta Pro integrates directly into your home’s electrical system as a whole-home backup.
EcoFlow also offers a dual-fuel smart generator that pairs with the Delta Pro for hybrid recharging — solar plus generator simultaneously. I haven’t tested that combo in the field yet, but the specs check out and the hardware connection is straightforward.
Jackery’s Ecosystem
Jackery doesn’t offer battery expansion for the Explorer 2000 Pro. What you buy is what you get. That’s a real limitation for anyone who wants to scale up. The Explorer 2000 Pro is a closed system — excellent within its capacity, not designed to grow.
Jackery’s app is solid. Real-time monitoring, charge scheduling, firmware updates over Bluetooth. It’s not as feature-rich as EcoFlow’s app, but it’s stable and doesn’t require an account to use basic functions. Small thing, but I appreciate it.
Goal Zero’s Ecosystem
Goal Zero has the most mature ecosystem for overlanders who’ve been in the game for years. The Yeti 3000X connects to Goal Zero’s Yeti Link expansion module, their Tank expansion batteries, and their MPPT charge controllers. The Tank Pro adds 983Wh for $699 — pricey, but the hardware fits together the way it was designed to, not like an afterthought.
Goal Zero also has the best retailer support. REI carries their full lineup. If something fails in the field and you’re near a city, Goal Zero is the easiest brand to get hands-on help for. On a $3,000 piece of equipment, that’s worth factoring in.
AC Output and Appliance Compatibility
The Delta Pro’s 3,600W continuous AC output (7,200W surge) handles almost anything short of a central air conditioner. I’ve run a full-size blender, a 1,500W hair dryer, and a 1,200W coffee maker simultaneously without issue. The surge capacity matters for motor-driven appliances — a 12,000 BTU portable AC unit draws around 1,300W continuous but surges to nearly 3,000W on startup. The Delta Pro handles it. The Yeti 3000X handles it at 3,500W surge. The Jackery handles it too at 4,400W surge, though I wouldn’t run a portable AC on the Jackery as a daily load long-term.
The Yeti 3000X’s 2,000W continuous output is the lowest of the three. For most camping loads that’s fine — you’re not running a table saw at base camp. But if you’re regularly running a portable AC, an induction cooktop, or any high-draw appliance, the Yeti’s output ceiling is a real problem.
Charging Speed from Wall Power
If you’re plugging in at a campground with shore power, or charging at home before a trip, recharge speed determines how quickly you’re back to full capacity.

All three charge fast enough from wall power that it’s not a meaningful differentiator for most buyers. The gaps open up on solar — and we’ve already covered that.
Temperature Performance
Lithium batteries lose capacity in cold weather. This is physics, not a brand flaw. EcoFlow and Jackery both use LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cells in their current flagship units, which hold up better in cold than older NMC chemistry. The Yeti 3000X also runs LFP.
I’ve used all three units down to 18°F on a late October trip in Wyoming. All three showed reduced capacity — roughly 15–20% less usable capacity compared to 70°F performance. The Delta Pro’s battery management system was the most transparent about it, showing a temperature warning and adjusted capacity estimate on the display. The Jackery showed no warning. The Yeti showed a reduced capacity estimate but no explicit temperature flag.
Below 14°F, LFP cells won’t charge — hard limit across all three units. Keep them in your sleeping space overnight if you’re in serious cold.

You’re Building a Van Life or Overlanding Rig
Get the EcoFlow Delta Pro. High solar input (1,600W), fast wall charging, expandable capacity to 10,800Wh, and X-Boost output handling make it the right foundation for a serious mobile power system. The 99-lb weight is a non-issue when it’s mounted in a vehicle. You won’t outgrow it.
You’re a Weekend Car Camper Who Wants Portability
The Jackery Explorer 2000 Pro is your unit. At 43 lbs, it’s the only one of these three you’ll carry to a campsite without a dolly. The 2,160Wh capacity handles a weekend of fridge power, device charging, and occasional cooking without drama. Best price-to-performance ratio of the three.
You Want Long-Term Durability and Already Have Goal Zero Panels
The Goal Zero Yeti 3000X makes sense if you’re already invested in the Goal Zero ecosystem, you prioritize build quality and retailer support over raw specs, and you’re not relying on solar as your primary recharge method. It’s the right call for a basecamp setup where you’re on shore power most of the time and using solar as a supplement.
You Need Whole-Home Backup Plus Camping Capability
The Delta Pro again. No other portable power station at this price point integrates with home electrical systems the way EcoFlow’s does. If you want one unit that handles both hurricane prep and overlanding, the Delta Pro is the only answer in this group.
The Verdict
The EcoFlow Delta Pro wins this comparison on specs, solar recharge speed, expandability, and overall value for serious off-grid use. It’s not the lightest, and it’s not the cheapest, but it outperforms both competitors where it counts.
The Jackery Explorer 2000 Pro is the right call for anyone who values portability and doesn’t need the Delta Pro’s output ceiling or expansion options. It’s a genuinely excellent unit at a fair price — for weekend camping, it’s probably more power station than most people need.
The Goal Zero Yeti 3000X is the hardest sell at $3,499. The build quality is exceptional and the brand support is unmatched, but 600W solar input and 2,000W AC output are real limitations for the price. If Goal Zero releases a Yeti with updated solar input specs, that changes. Right now, you’re paying a legacy premium for a unit that can’t keep pace on the spec that matters most for off-grid use.
